RESORT: Regent Palms Turks & Caicos
Regent Palms was exactly what you picture in your mind when you imagine a Caribbean Resort. A white sanctuary with flawless landscaping, the resort offers everything you could possibly need. I paddle-boarded for the first time, took a Pilates class, and made a visit to the spa.
FOOD: I don't even know where to begin. I was in Turks & Caicos for 9 days and did not have one bad meal! Fresh seafood, Caribbean seasoning, and the most amazing Peas and Rice I've ever tasted. I always believe that one of the best ways to connect with a culture is through the cuisine. Turks & Caicos is known for conch and peas & rice, two distinctive island flavors we tried to have at every restaurant we tried.
FUN: If there was an activity to do on the island, we did it! We went took an all-day Caicos Dream Tour where we dove for conch, explored neighboring islands, snorkeled, and had a picnic on the beach. It was so fun and thank goodness I put on enough sun screen! We rode the Provo Ponies into the ocean (definitely one of my favorite things we did!). We took another all-day Caribbean Cruisin' tour of North and Middle Caicos. It was great to explore the other islands (which included a bat cave) as well as witness the breathtaking Horsestable Beach and Mudjin Harbour. Our last day though was the best excursion yet, when we took jet skis out along Providenciales. It was my favorite excursion because there was nothing separating you from the water other than the jet ski. Our guide let us venture off (as long as we didn't get out of sight), we saw sharks, sea turtles, and rays, and we even landed on a secluded island. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
If you are wanting to take a beach vacation and don't know where to go, I highly suggest Turks & Caicos! Everyone is so friendly, there is so much to do (or not do if you just want to relax), and the food is amazing. I am counting down the days until I can go back!
