One of my favorite fall activities is to go to a pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins! I don't know what it is about pumpkin patches but I am completely obsessed. Maybe it's the adorable decor, the mass amount of pumpkins and all the amazing varieties, or the giddiness of seeing kids and adults alike wandering around and having pure plain and simple fun.
We went to our favorite Clancy's Pumpkin Patch this past Sunday and we were definitely still experiencing our Indian Summer temps. It was a particularly warm day with temps in the upper 70s but I couldn't NOT dress for fall while going to a pumpkin patch! I mean, am I right?! I threw on my favorite pair of overalls and tied a flannel around my waist for that extra boost of fall style ;) The warm weather did not stay for long as it's now been pretty chilly this week with highs in the low sixties. I am LOVING the crisp fall air this week. But my wallet is not… for some reason the crisp air makes me want to drink pumpkin spice lattes ALL the time. Need to get over that habit real quid)
Anywaysss back to the pumpkins! Do y'all have a favorite type?! When we first got to the patch I was thinking I wanted the Cinderella style pumpkins (those cute short and wide ones) but then I realized I wouldn't be able to carve those as they are more of just decor pumpkins. Don't get me wrong, I love just decor pumpkins but our tiny apartment does not have the room. I cannot wait till the day until I have a big front porch that I can deck out in mums and pumpkins!
I decided to get my favorite type of pumpkin: a wolf pumpkin. Don't know what those are? They are larger pumpkins with the big thick stems. I'm allll about the stem! In my opinion, I found the pumpkin with the coolest stem in all of the patch! It''s a pretty symmetrical pumpkin with a twisted stem that reminds me of the maleficent horns (can you tell which pumpkin I'm talking about in the photos above?!)
I can't believe we're already mid through October! This month is going by way too fast. I haven't even watched Hocus Pocus yet (tradition of mine to watch every year!) and I don't even have my Halloween outfit planned yet! Help, send me ideas!!
