I love Interior Design and sometimes wish I studied it in college to make a career out of it. I have so much fun sourcing items to make a house (or apartment!) a home. I cannot wait for the day where I can fill my home with items I truly love. It takes a lot of time to slowly get rid of your "college" furniture and purchase items that match your interior decor style.
I have always favored more modern furniture but as I have gotten older my design taste has changed. In college, I loved very modern i.e. sleek, mirrored, and white furniture and now I love mid century modern with warmer wood tones mixed in with white/neutrals and pops of color. I know that sounds kind of strange to describe but in a shorter essence, I love mid century modern items with a bohemian/eclectic flair.
I am constantly dreaming (and talking) about how I want to decorate my current apartment. W doesn't understand when I do this - he just says "Babe, why are you talking about this? We have no money to get new furniture..." What he says is so true, but there's no harm in day dreaming right?! Don't get me wrong, I still think my apartment is cute, but I don't love every piece of furniture. For example, in a perfect world, I would love to replace my current coffee table with this or this or this, (still can't decide which one I like best!) my couch with this, and chair with this. I *may* have some expensive taste when it comes to furniture... sigh.
Until the time comes where I can purchase new furniture of my own, I will just have to stick with Pinterest to fill my interior design dreams. Follow me along here!
