Do you like to set new year resolutions or goals? I prefer to set myself personal goals, rather than resolutions because to be quite honest, resolutions scare me. I don’t want to disappoint myself if I fail so I would rather work towards something and appreciate my progress along the way.
When I was thinking about the year ahead, I was suddenly hit with some sadness and apprehension. 2018 was such an incredible year for my personally with so much to look forward to. 2019 has nothing in store for me (yet) — we have no plans, only a empty year ahead with nothing to look forward to. But then I came to the realization that 2019 is a blank slate for us. It is what we make it and I hope to make it a year for the books and slowly fill in all the blank pages.
My 2019 Goals:
Maintain a healthy lifestyle: With the wedding in 2018, I really switched my lifestyle and starting eating a lot healthier and working out more. Not only did I lose weight, but I was also feeling my best. I hope to keep this up in 2019 through healthy eating habits, weekly walks and yoga classes.
Put more effort and time into my blog: With the wedding, my blog took a bit of a back burner last year and I hope to put more effort and time into it in 2019. It’s really something I’m passionate about so it’s important to me to keep it up! I love sharing my personal style with you and I hope to also bring in more interior decor and lifestyle content as well. I’d also really love to do a site redesign (if my budget allows) and rebrand my logo. Stay tuned!
Save money: And speaking of budgets, I hope to save more this year. I’d really love to buy a house within the next 5 years so making sure Warren and I are both saving a lot is top of mind.
Quality over quantity: With having a fashion blog, I often feel compelled to buy new things just in order to push out more content. Although I love styling and creating content, I hope to stop buying “filler” items for my closet, mainly “fast fashion” pieces that won’t last more than a season. I want to buy thoughtfully and be investing more in quality over quantity this year
Appreciate “the now”: Social media is great for so many reasons but it can also be a source of self doubt and comparison. I want to stop comparing myself to others — their clothes, their life, their travels, etc. I want to practice daily gratitude of what I’m lucky enough to have while appreciating where I am at now in life. We always have something to be thankful for and each of our journeys is different.
So there you have it! My goals may seem simple but each one is something I want to work on this year. I hope to stay on track and work towards each goal over the course of this year! I’m excited to see what 2019 has in store for me.
